RIWA Generation 1

Real-Time Integrated Weld Analyzer (RIWA) is a system to provide real time quality measurement of resistance spot welding and send feedback to the welding equipment.

Quality measurement is based on the receiving of the repercussion of the ultrasound signal. The unit is sending the signal into the weld spot right during of the welding process. The received signals is digitized and transformed into the time diagram of the processes taking place during the welding. Sophisticated algorithm is used to process received data and produce metrics characterizing the weld quality.

The system has to be installed on each robot to be monitored for quality purposes. Many installations can be connected into the local network and controlled from one place. Display can be connected to the unit for the local monitoring.

On each unit local database of saved measurements can be used for statistical study and reports.

Minor changes required for the welding equipment to adapt the system into the overall welding process.
