Setting Parameters

NameDescription
Pulse/VoltageSets the pulser voltage for the transmitter pulse. The recommended range is 40–50 V.
Pulse/WidthSets the width of the transmitter pulse. For SRS transducers with a center frequency of 15 MHz, a width of 24 ns is recommended.
Amp/HDRIs an option to enhance signal acquisition.
Amp/GainSets the amplifier gain. Adjust it as needed.
Amp/AveragingAverages the signals to enhance their quality.
Timing/RX delaySets the start of the A-scan display. The entrance echo into the top plate should be visible. Recommended defaults are 6–7 µs for a water-column delay line and 3 µs for a hard delay line.
Timing/RX durationSets the duration of A-scan acquisition. Choose a duration that allows multiple echoes to be visible.
Materials/CouplantSpecifies the couplant. For a water delay line, choose water. For other couplants, e.g., Imagel or oil, select the corresponding option.
Material/SampleSpecifies the material of the stack. Currently, the SRS Auditor automatically maps this setting to either steel or aluminum.

Stack

Stack information is required during the setup phase. During normal operation, the robot controller or PLC provides this information.

NameDescription
Stack/FrontSpecifies the thickness of the front plate.
Stack/MiddleSpecifies the thickness of the middle plate in a 3-plate stack. For a 2-plate stack, enter “0” here.
Stack/BackSpecifies the thickness of the front plate.
Algorithm/ShapeChoose “circle” to evaluate spot welds. Any other options the software provides are experimental.
Algorithm/BiasApplies a manual offset to the target diameter. This is the new Manual Adjustment feature.
