A-Scan Parameters

Before the b-scan will be read, the following a-scan parameters have to be set up:

  • PassSize is the length of the a-scan in samples. This value is determined by the thickness of all plates to be welded and may be different for different welds.
  • Approximately PassSize is calculated as (75 x plates_thickness_in_mm) samples.
  • RegDelay - calculated in auto adjustment.
  • Gain - calculated in auto adjustment.
  • SumCount - number of a-scans used for averaging the a-scan output.
  • PassDelay - time, mks for a-scans averaging.
note
  • SumCount can take values from 1 to 8, the bigger value the less noise is present in the signal.
  • Value: PassDelay x (SumCount-1) has to be less or equal to Interval, see "B-Scan Parameters". The bigger this value, the longer time will take b-scan reading.
