B-Scan Parameters

When a-scan parameters were tuned, the following b-scan parameters have to be set up for accurate reading:

  • AinB - number of a-scans in b-scan.
  • Interval - time, mks between a-scans in b-scan.
  • BScanDelay - time, ms, the system is waiting after receiving the trigger signal to start scanning.
note
  • The b-scan has to cover some time prior to the welding, the actual welding time, and some time after welding.
  • Interval cannot be less than one a-scan time reading, see A-Scan Parameters.

AinB can be approximately calculated using the following assumptions:

  • time-to-read-one-a-scan = 100 mks + Interval mks (100 mks is one a-scan reading time).
  • welding-time = time in ms between current on and current off.

Then, AinB = (20 + 2 x welding-time / time-to-read-one-a-scan) a-scans.
