This probe is optimized for a robotic application, with the right-angle cable exit typically allowing for better packaging and the flat surfaces providing good mating surfaces for alignment and indexing. A probe with the cable exit at the rear is also available if it is better suited to a specific application.
Protection
Although it is designed to be durable, it is still important to protect the probe from impacts. The robot it is mounted on should be programmed such that the probe does not make unintentional contact with parts or other objects during movement.
The contact pressure of the probe onto the part should be controlled with, e.g., a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder.
Severe damage to the probe sustained due to mishandling or improper operation is not covered by the warranty.
