F2 Won't Accept Template Revisions
There are many reasons this can happen:
- RSWA Version Issues
- Folder Permission Issues
- File Ownership Issues
We will go over each issue in detail to help resolve the source of the problem.
1. RSWA Version Issues
Make sure the unit is using the same software versions as the rest of the units. Sometimes, even re-installing the software can fix it.
2. Folder Permission Issues
Make sure the folder C:\ProgramData\tessonics\v4
has the proper permissions. You can check the permissions by going to that folder via Windows File Explorer, right-click and select "Properties", then go to the "Security" tab.
Make sure the following users have full access:
- "SYSTEM",
- "User (DeviceName\User)" (where
DeviceName
is the name of your device), and - "Administrators (DeviceName\Administrators)".
If some of the users don't have full access, grant access by doing the following:
- In the same Security tab, hit "Edit".
- Select the proper user.
- Check "Full access".
- Hit "Apply" then "Ok".
3. File Ownership Issues
If you have setup the unit to have multiple users, or have connected the device to your Active Directory, there's a chance some of the files within the C:\ProgramData\tessonics\v4
folder belong to a different owner.
You can check this by right-clicking the top bar in the Windows File Explorer, select "More" and check the "Owner" box to reveal the Owner column. Every file, folder, and nested file should be owned by the user "DeviceName\User" (where DeviceName
is the name of your device).
If some files have a different owner, change the owner by doing the following:
- Right-click the file and select “Properties”. Then under the Security tab, select “Advanced”.
- It should list the owner at the top, under “Owner”. Select “Change”.
- Enter the proper username (or type “User” and then select “Check Names”, it should fill in the proper name).
- For all open windows, hit “Apply” and “Ok”.
- The file explorer may need to be refreshed to show the change.
It is highly recommended to only have one user on the F2 unit itself, and it is especially recommended not to connect the F2 unit to your Active Directory. Contact your IT team about removing other users from the unit.
4. Other Issues
If none of the following address this concern, the unit may require further testing. You can ship the unit to the Tessonics location for further diagnostics.
